2021 Recap
2021 continued with challenges for many of our clients due to COVID-19. But we used our experience from 2020 to help them work through their legal issues in a variety of ways. We are back in our office full time and glad to meet with clients in person again, but also appreciate the ability to provide video and phone options.
We continued our charitable work as well by supporting the Alzheimer's Association, Balance, Inc., and Life Navigators. Carol started a new non-profit organization called "Summer's Home" (www.summers-home.org) which will provide temporary foster care to dogs whose senior owner have a short term hospitalization.
Once again our dedication to our chosen field of elder and special needs law was recognized as our firm was awarded "Best Law Firm" and Carol and Jessica received "Super Lawyers" and "Best Lawyers" in the elder law category.
A new greeter dog, Rita, started in October. She is loving her new position.
2020 Recap
The year 2020 brought many struggles for our clients, and along with that, much innovation for our office. We worked remotely for a substantial amount of time, but never stopped serving our clients and figuring out better ways to do so. We stay in touch through phone, email, and videoconferencing. We found solutions for tough cases. We learned how to "go to court" with clients via Zoom. Clients can now submit documentation and access their client documents via a secure client portal. Invoices can now be paid online. In a year where the Walk to End Alzheimer's went virtual, the Wessels & Liebau team raised over $2,300. We supported organizations like the Alzheimer's Association, Balance Inc., and Life Navigators Inc. that support and improve the lives of our clients. We took pro bono case and supported legal justice organizations. Our support staff did an outstanding job of stepping up to the challenge. According to the organizations that bestow such awards, we continue to be "Super Lawyers" and "Best Lawyers" and a "Best Law Firm." Most importantly, we worked hard and took the steps necessary to make sure we can be there for our clients in 2021 and beyond.
